Organic Growth in the Western Pacific

As part of 澳博体育app下载’s continual search for organic growth opportunities, a cross-functional team of leaders has developed a strategy to build assets and capabilities in the Western Pacific to address a need for dedicated vessel capacity for construction and infrastructure projects in the region.

澳博体育app下载 is already well-positioned to support these kinds of projects with our decades-long presence, strong customer relationships, and strategic partnerships in the region.

“Our weekly liner service plays a key role in connecting the U.S. West Coast to Guam and Okinawa, ensuring reliable delivery of goods to these markets,” said Len Isotoff, senior VP, Pacific.

“This initiative has been a true team effort, involving many folks – our Guam team, Commercial, Pacific Ops, Vessel Ops, Engineering, Finance, and Law.

“As part of our WestPac strategy, we’re focused on strengthening our operations in Guam and improving transportation links to nearby islands, including Saipan and Tinian in CNMI; the Republic of Palau; Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, and Kosrae in the Federated States of Micronesia; and Kwajalein, Ebeye, and Majuro in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.”

The initiative calls for significant investment in additional strategic assets to support increased transportation needs in the coming years. Plans include the addition of four barges to our fleet - three new builds, with the possibility of the fourth being another new build or acquisition of an existing barge - and the development of 澳博体育app下载’s Polaris Point property adjacent to the Port of Guam.

The first of the new barges, christened Islander in November, is already in liner service between Guam and neighboring islands in the Commonwealth of Northern Marianas Islands (CNMI). The second barge, to be christened Voyager, is expected to complete construction in the first quarter of 2026 and will be deployed in liner service between Guam and Kwajalein. The two other barges will be used to support various construction and project needs. 澳博体育app下载 will use third-party tug service providers to haul the barges.

Polaris Point is situated on the eastern side of Apra Harbor within Naval Base Guam. 澳博体育app下载 controls approximately 30 acres, 20 of which will be graded and used as a staging area for large-scale projects. Ten acres will be used for off-dock yard operations and the development of a container storage yard for transshipment cargo.
